It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.

: success in defeating an opponent or enemy

Victory is not measured in what the appointed “win” was or what everyone else believes victory is. Victory is what you are able to defeat or achieve with your best effort given. Personal victory or as you might say defeating your own demons is true victory. Victory should not be measured to other people’s standards. Instead we should have a concept of our own enemies and plan our own battles. Our victories are not controlled by others. Just as we have control over our dreams, destinies, and fates; we have control over our victories. We are not the circumstances we come about in life, but how we defeat them. In one way or another you will overcome. In one way or another you will experience complete victory.

“Happiness is not a matter of intensity but of balance, order, rhythm and harmony.” — Thomas Merton

Balance.  An essential piece to living a life full of everything you want and need. In proportions, you can receive a life with all its glory and happiness. There are things we want and need in life, but we can have both with excellent balance. Being able to maintain the pace with stealth and stability is something only a few can master within the course of their small amount of time. Many go crazy. Wishing for this, wanting that, needing these and not being able to hold on to all while keeping up with the rest of life’s wonders and tragedies. Balancing not only what you have now but what you will need in the future can be tricky but is manageable. Figure out your priorities. Make sure whatever your priorities happen to be, they always come before everything else. Figure out your needs. Whatever is necessary for you to live not only physically but emotionally as well. Then figure out your wants. Whatever you hope to accomplish or obtain. You cannot receive these wants without the priorities and needs coming first. It may be tough and may take practice but you CAN balance your life! You can understand that peace and happiness without all the craziness of disorganization.Stay inspired to obtain your perfect balance.

Inspired to Focus on Quality

“Knowledge comes, but wisdom lingers. It may not be difficult to store up in the mind a vast quantity of facts within a comparatively short time, but the ability to form judgments requires the severe discipline of hard work and the tempering heat of experience and maturity.”

Calvin Coolidge

Many have been told to focus on the quality of things rather than the quantity. I could not agree with this statement more. It is much better to have one diamond than dozens of rocks. Although this concept seems ancient, it still seems to rarely be understood. People say they know this fact and even tell it to others without fully comprehending it themselves. Quality over quantity means sacrificing the status quo of MORE for the happiness of BETTER.

Better Over More; Because having more than someone else does not make you better; instead choosing better qualities ends up giving you more.     // Mackenzie

Inspired to Live NOW

“Wherever you are, be there. If you can be fully present now, you’ll know what it means to live.”
― Steve Goodies

People tend to be so concerned with what their next move is that they forget of what is happening right now. Yes having a plan for the future is necessary and helpful, but what you do NOW is more important. Continue reading

Inspired to See the Light

“It’s always darkest before the dawn.” —-Florence and the Machine

With the sun setting we are assured the promise of a new dawn. Each night we could think about the ominous darkness or the promising light that is to arise the next morning. The matter of the fact is, is the glass half empty or half full? Do we choose to see the sadness of darkness or the greatness of light? For me, I choose to see the greatness of light. I let the radiation of light seep into me and fill in the empty cracks that life has left behind. I stand through the night strong; knowing that the sweet light is to soon arise. I know that there will be darkness and yet I do not let this shake me. I do not let the fear of darkness corrupt my mind and control my ways. I instead let all the promises and hope of light spread all throughout me. I let light live inside every part of me through the times of light and the times of dark. Even when I see darkness coming, I keep my roots planted. Even when I know that I am in the darkest of times, I know that the dawn is coming. When I know the dawn is coming, I know there is no stopping it. A lit candle shines brighter in the darkness than it does in the light.
